Curricular and Evaluative Practices

JSU has pioneered many innovative teaching and evaluative practices long before they have introduced in institutions of higher education in India. It has provided full autonomy to the tutor to design the syllabus and evaluate students in the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) mode through tests, presentations, term papers and projects, long before CCE became standard practice. We are on the way to adopt Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS) suggested by UGC.

Student Feedback

The University has been following a system of student feedback, which is done manually. Students fill in a feedback form, where they assess the teachers in the following criteria – -Quality of content of lecture – Quality of delivery – Degree of updating of contents – Promptness in evaluation and feedback – Regularity and punctuality in meeting the class – Empathy for the problems faced by the students. – Quality of research guidance.

The Technological, Educational and Doctoral Skill programmes offers a variety of courses to help develop academic and professional skills and to help with career planning and professional development.

Learning support

Libraries and Learning Services

Libraries and Learning services provide resources; workshops and advice to help your successfully complete your study. Within the libraries you can access large collections of print, multimedia and micro text materials. From the Libraries and Learning services website you can access diverse collections of electronic resources, including database, e-journals and e-books.

Study space

In addition to the plentiful general study spaces, the post graduate student's commons has a quiet study /meeting space reserved for post graduate students and research scholars. Many faculties and departments also offer dedicated post graduate workstations or research facilities – for example, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Advance study and research Institute provides computers and study space specifically for M.Phil. / Ph.D. students in various subjects.

Personal support

University hostels and the office of Dean Students welfare provide a home away home for students on campus and are used for teaching, learning and other student activities. The office of DSW provides environment for studies and a space for discussion and support. University staff assists students with their studies through workshops, study groups, individual and consultations. Additionally, students can seek advice and support from DSW office at any time.

Students with disabilities

As part the University's commitment to students with disabilities, the DSW office provides support to students with a range of impairments so they can succeed and excel within the University. Support can be tailored to your needs to help make studying at the JS University an accessible and positive experience for you.

Sport and recreation

Play sport, get fit and have fun, whether it's by using our gym facilities, taking part in one of our group fitness class or signing up for a sport. Our Sport and Recreation / Cultural Activities Centre offers a wellequipped gym with weights and cardio machines, sports hall and squash court, as well as a number of group fitness classes you can join. The professional Sport and Recreation staff can advise on the many options to get involved, as well as offering personalised advice on health, fitness and general well-being to ensure an active body and mind.
Rural, lush green and pollution free environment of the JS University campus help a lot for gaining this goal.

University-managed accommodation

All of our residences offer opportunity to meet and make new friends with other students from several parts of the country. University runs one hostel for boys and one hostel for girl students. There is also facility to provide food for all the students on nominal charges.

Private accommodation

Apart from our University-managed student accommodation facilities, there is a wide choice of rooms, apartments and flats around Shikohabad, Firozabad and Agra. The University is located close to the city and business district and is served well by buses from all areas. (Shikohabad 5 KM, Firozabad 18 KM, AGRA 65 KM, Etawa 30 KM, Mainpuri 40 KM}
If you are interested in seeking accommodation outside of the University residences, our DSW office team will be pleased to assist you with comprehensive information about renting in Shikohabad and Firozabad.

Support for international students

The University provides a comprehensive range of support services for international students to help make your transition to life in Shikohabad (nearby Agra) smooth as possible. This includes learning and academic support, Hindi (local dialect - Brij) and English language support and personal support.
As a graduate or postgraduate international student, you will have access to general support services the JS University offers to its students. There are also specialist support services to help you adjust to life in India and enjoy your studies at Shikohabad (Firozabad) nearby Agra, the city of Tajmahal.

Scholarships and tuition-fee refund

Students whose parent's/guardian's annual income is less than Rs. 2 lac, are entitled to avail scholarship and tuition-fee refund as per norms prescribed in notification of the Uttar Pradesh Government, time to time.
Eligible students may apply for scholarship and tuition fee refund within the prescribed time-limit for particular academic year. Their applications will be considered by the University in accordance with the above norms and, if found in order, forwarded to the U.P. Govt. for approval.

for M.Phi and Ph.D. as per UGC norms.
